In this workshop, you can find out about the basic principles to make rosetas and use them on everyday objects like brooches or earrings. Macarena had children in mind when she made a small decorated bauble. Once you know the basics you can be creative and use this delicate traditional Canarian technique.

About Macarena

Crafts have been part of Macarena’s life ever since childhood. She saw how her grandmothers made rosetas together, and they used them to get by. And that’s how she got started, working with a group of ladies until she decided to go her own way selling rosetas and explaining her methods to work groups.

Although she still uses traditional methods, Macarena likes to innovate and create more current products using traditional techniques like dreamcatchers, brooches, earrings, pincushions and even giant rosetas used as umbrellas.

Her rosetas have become known around many fairs and after having given interviews, and are displayed in the Tenerife Museum.

In addition, she has collaborated with brands such as Custo Barcelona for the first edition of the Lanzarote Fashion Weekend; designer Custo Dalmau used some of her different colour roseta designs.
