ALL WAYS, Sharon Fridman Company
Contemporany dance festival – Jameos del Agua Auditorium
This work features eight dancers who explore circular movements, a connection with gravity and inertia, freedom of movement and playing with balance. The plot revolves around the idea of the paths humans take when they feel lost and how new routes are built which, from that point of displacement, allow them to keep going supported by dreams and love. All of it seasoned with plenty of emotions, as well as new rhythms and landscapes where music is key. Instrumental tunes are added on to electronic tunes and even the intervention of a singer who, on the dream scene, sings a song in Hebrew.
“All Ways”, is a reflection of the path taken by the Sharon Fridman company, having consolidated a search and a methodology based on the language of contact improvisation, seen as an existential philosophy that involves a conscious relationship not only with each other but also with matter and the elements.
The company was founded in Madrid in 2006 by Israeli choreographer Sharon Fridman, one of the international contemporary dance role models. Fridman’s work includes having participated in a significant number of festivals and stages in different countries such as France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Colombia, South Korea and Singapore, and he has been awarded at the Burgos-New York Choreographic Competition, with the Alicia Alonso Ibero-American Choreography Award, the Choreographic Competition in Madrid, the Huesca International Theatre and Dance Fair and the Berna Tanzplatform. Among the latest awards received there’s the Max 2015 for Best Dance Performance for Free Fall.Buy your ticket online HERE
